I first learned of Dartford Cemetery in 2008 when I saw it on an episode of the show, "A Haunting."
The vast snow covering the headstones looked so familiar and on a hunch, I went and grabbed my, "Wisconsin Road Guide to Haunted Locations" book. Paging through it, I found the exact same cemetery: Dartford Cemetery. With it's gothic gates, sprawling grounds, glowing Native American Chief headstone, and mysterious and powerful mausoleum, it grabbed my attention immediately.
My husband and I had the day off that day and he was on the computer in our spare room, I called him out to the living room and he watched the tail end of the show with me. That was when the whole "legend tripping" idea inspired us.
On March 21st, 2012, we finally got around to making the trip over to the area. Dartford Cemetery is in Green Lake, Wisconsin. Along with this spot, there is also a long rutted country road called, "Witch Road." It is actually called Callan Road and it is just outside of Rosendale, WI. There is supposed to be an old shack in the woods and there have been reports of a witch who resided or resides in it. We found an old outbuilding, but no signs of an old home. I figured either it had been torn down or it never existed.
